2022 Butler County Forestry Planning Commmittee Trapping Workshop

The trapper education workshop is an outreach program for youth to adults providing the opportunity to experience and to be educated in an outdoor skill that helped to settle this country. The Butler County Forestry Planning Committee will host another workshop this year in Butler County.

This is a program that was initiated by the Wildlife and Freshwaters Fisheries Division with assistance from the Alabama Trappers and Predators Control Association. This outreach program passes on the historical aspects of trapping, biological information concerning furbearer and furbearer management and allows students to learn the proper techniques that include the use of trapping as a sound wildlife management tool.
