The Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC), a state government agency, anticipates hiring a Forest Product Economic Specialist by October 1st, 2022. Established as a state agency in 1924, the mission of the Alabama Forestry Commission is three-fold: to Protect the Forests from all harmful agents; to Service and Help Landowners to carry out responsible forest management on their property, using professional technical assistance so as to benefit themselves, their land and society; and to Educate the General Public about the value of our forests in insuring both a healthy economy and environment. The position will be involved with various aspects of forest product economic development recruitment & marketing for the state of Alabama. The successful candidate will work for the AFC along with other economic development allies within the state for the purposes of economic development.
The position will be filled within the State Personnel Jobs Class Code as:
Economic Development Representative (11357) /Business Development Option (337)
OR
Senior Economic Development Representative (11358)/Business Development Option (337)
The salary ranges mentioned below for the aforementioned positions do not reflect an additional 4% COLA increase scheduled for September 1st, 2022:
Economic Development Representative (11357) is $46,442.46 to $86,037.00
OR
Senior Economic Development Representative (11358) is $63,780.00 to $107.371.00
Each Class Code is predicated upon education, work history, and experience within the job classification requirements. The selected successful candidate is expected to begin duties beginning October 1st, 2022.
