Several other states have similar prescribed burning laws and requirements. Presently, Alabama has reciprocity with Mississippi, Georgia and South Carolina. Reciprocity concerning other state’s programs will be evaluated as needed.

Certified prescribe burners in other states whose training meets or exceeds Alabama’s standards, can be certified by submitting an Application for Prescribed Burn Manager Certification, proof of certification in the other state, and the $50 application fee to:
